The pass shows Eddie Van Halen's Dalmation, Sherman, and the 5150 studio engineer, Ken. The picture was taken in the driveway of the 5150 studio.
This granted the wearer "Access All Areas" during the European leg of Van Halen's 1993 World Tour. This pass was only given to the band and their family. All Access, no restrictions.
The VH logo is printed with holographic foil, which authenticates the pass. The hologram created diamond-like reflections as the light hits it from different angles. This distinguishes the pass like the watermark on a check. This feature made the pass impossible to duplicate.
Laminated passes were given out to only very few people... usually only crew members, management, record company people, and close friends of the band. This is a heavy duty pass that was laminated in plastic so that it would last for the entire tour.
