Bit pricey and thin, but overall, stripes win !

It's not the thickest hat I've ever bought. I have thicker hats that do the job of keeping one's bonce warm a lot better than this. So, for that perspective, it loses a star in it's review for what it is and the price of it. You could buy 2, 3 or 4 better quality hats, were your only requirement being to purchase a garment that stops heat escaping through the top of your body.
They wouldn't have stripes...
Being a bloke, I love the design on this. Red with black and white stripes, although iconic, would be wrong for this beanie. This subtle blend is perfect, as it matches a lot of stuff that I wear at this time of year when it gets cold - gloves, scarf, coats, etc. So I don't look so much of a twonk. Unless you ask the wife of course, who thinks I look a proper one, but she hates the stripes - which makes me wear it all the more.
I've had it a few years now, and it's still in decent condition given how many times I have warn it, so the quality is good.
Given the price of it, and shipping to the UK for such an expensive item, I wouldn't have been able to justify it. However, I had friends that were over in the States, so I shipped it to them and they brought it back with them, which brought the cost down to more normal levels.
I love it, mainly because it's stripey, it annoys the wife, and it does keep my head warm. Job done.
