This is actually not just a "poster" (as in, it is not a rolled poster like all the other posters we sell). It is an Official Tour Program that FOLDS OUT into a poster.... from Van Halen's most famous concert of their career.... the "US Festival". Held in Southern California's Glen Helen Regional Park on Memorial Day Weekend, 1983. A four day event billed as "The Musical Event of the 1980's". Van Halen kicked some serious ass in front of nearly 500,000 screaming fans. The band was paid $1.5 million for headlining "Heavy Metal Day" which caused them to be featured in the Guinness Book of World Records as "The artist or band receiving the most money for a single performance".This show was so extravagant that the band devoted an entire line of merchandise to the US Festival, including a "Van Halen Memorial Day" jersey, a classic poster, and this fold-out program. There seems to be no more jerseys or posters out there in new condition, but miraculously we have found and purchased a pile of programs that Tower Records had pulled from their shelves when they shut down their head shops. This program is 9" x 11.5" when folded, and folds out to a double sided poster. One side is the classic poster of the band raising the flag (size 23" x 35"), and the other side shows 4 different things: the classic in-concert poster from 1982 (size 23" x 17.5"), a collage of live shots from the 1982 "Hide Your Sheep" tour (size 17.5" x 11.5"), and the front and back cover (the back cover features four exclusive shots of the band members). These have been forgotten in a wharehouse for 20 years! But now they will find new, happy homes & be appreciated. A classic collector's item! These Van Halen US Festival programs that we have are probably the last few left in the world. Mint condition!
