This official metal promo button for the band's self-titled debut album is probably the rarest official button ever made.
And there's something very special about these buttons! A VERY little-known fact: These very buttons actually doubled as backstage passes during Van Halen's first world tour! The band and their small entourage did have their own satin/cloth backstage passes, but they were often running out of them (they'd always be meeting lots of hotties). So the band would use these buttons as passes when they needed to!
Size is huge (3" diameter). The front is black with record album logo graphics & "1978 Warner Bros Records Inc. Made in USA." Shiny silver back with pin.
The only reason we have a few of these is because we bought them from an ex-roadie who luckily saved a few of them that were leftover from their 1978 tour. They traveled on the entire tour, and these are in a bag ever since.
These buttons have minor surface scuffs from traveling around the world in a bag in 1978, but are otherwise in great condition.
Extremely limited supply of these insanely rare collectibles!
